Chicago-area beatsmith Maker marks his Now-Again Records debut with Maker Vs. Now Again an entry in the same “music-library” series that saw the release of limited edition (and often not-for-sale) albums like Oh No Vs. Now-Again and Koushik Vs. Now-Again. A boom-bap era hip hop exercise in dusty drum breaks and two bar loops, this accessible series of tracks was clearly made for easy synchronization. Outside of Japan, this CD is only available at stonesthrow.com, and comes packaged in a “mini-LP” thick cardboard “tip-on” sleeve. Only 1000 copies of this CD were manufactured.

Here's the video's for a couple of songs I've been listening to lately. They were released in 2008 and 2009, but that doesn't matter. Good is good.

Debut album by French indie pop band, International Hyper Rythmique "Uncity Nation" will be released May 14 in France and June 1st worldwide in a beautiful digipack edition.
International Hyper Rythmique is brothers and sisters : Jean Martial-Guilhem (guitar), Laurence Martial-Guilhem (vocals / bass) and Claire Martial-Guilhem (keyboards and drums). They confide to us a fresh and an offbeat pop, with "Uncity Nation" the band drags us in stateless surrounding, freed from all space. International Hyper Rythmique draws lines of pure, lunar and poetic music.

Brazilian singer and actor Seu Jorge will release his latest album, a self-titled collaboration with the band Almaz, July 27 on Now-Again Records. Seu Jorge And Almaz is Jorge's fifth studio album, and it places more emphasis on a full-band sound. He and Almaz collaborated to record a song for a Walter Salles film and, enjoying the experience, decided to record an entire album jointly. Together Jorge and the band cover songs famous within Brazilian culture, and added a psychedelic samba to some classic American and European soul tunes, including Roy Ayers' "Everybody Loves The Sunshine."
